The War on Birth Control
Incredible as it might seem, the Republicans want to turn the clock back to 1937, when contraception was still illegal in this country. That’s what will happen if Personhood USA and several other groups have their way. They are placing—on numerous state ballots—a proposed constitutional amendment declaring that life begins at conception. If passed, this measure not only would likely ban abortions under virtually any circumstances (including rape and incest), but it would also ban birth control methods like the IUD and Plan B emergency contraceptive. Even the Pill could be history.
Worse still, the amendment would prevent married women from conceiving children via in vitro fertilization. The Personhood Amendment will be up for a vote in at least 12 states. Presidential hopefuls Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Ron Paul have all signed a pledge supporting it. Mitt Romney didn’t sign but has agreed that life begins at conception, the basis of the anti choice measure.
I don’t believe there’s any way the American people will let the GOP get away with this. If the Republicans aren’t careful, they will sow the seeds of their own destruction.

Birth control is causing our women to go for “niggers” and ruining white women? WTH? That is the trashiest, most ignorant thing I have ever heard. I have a 15 year old, whom by the way, thinks Larry Flynt is a personal god for his political views and more importantly for his precedent setting freedom of speech. When she saw “People Vs Larry Flynt,” (yep, I let her and encouraged it,) she was mesmerized and ever since, Larry motivates and inspires her. She doesn’t see the porn part, although she reads alot of his writing and loves his audacity. I could not be happier that she chose him. If “bad” words are a small part of her being exposed to Larry’s valliant, unfearing, intellectual talk, then so be it. She is an amazing student and an incredible free thinker.
As an Atheist, he was the first true hero she ever had.and it breaks her heart to know that some coward put a bullet in Mr Flynt because he was offended by his freedom of speech. It makes her livid to hear about it now in research or to see it in the movie. I don’t know if she is active in the sexual sense just yet. Hopefully, she isn’t but when she is ready, I have already provided the birth control. Sex is a part of life eventually for everyone and if you think teens aren’t doing it, get your head out of the sand. I won’t be a grandmother from a teen that doesn’t wash her dishes, let alone would try to raise a baby, ruining her whole life. Get a life. Birth control is control of OUR bodies, not men’s choices. This isn’t the dark ages. I will choose when and if I have a child. it will NEVER be illegal. Move along with your moral jufgements and leave that to your pretend god in the clouds. AND, Alex Bennett is amazing….so smart, witty and his views are incredible. I want to keep him forever and ever. He is the man, second only to Larry himself. Thanks Larry, for giving my daughter a real hero!
